The Aug 5 WORKSHOP IS FULL... See Shoga Aug 26

ShoGa - Shamanism is an ancient healing tradition, and moreover, a way of life. Shamanism is concerned with what goes on beneath the surface of things - why certain situations occur in our lives and why we act as we do. It is concerned with the nature of our creation - why and how we came to be. Shamanism is about the power to be ourselves, to live the way we would like to live and to feel connected to something greater than ourselves. In this powerful workshop, Christopher Daniels will, through ceremony, guide participants in setting an intention for their practice, and then will lead participants through a gentle sequence of restorative & yin poses, aimed at opening the chakras. From here, using rattle work, smudging, Reiki, and Spirit Guides will cleanse the chakras, remove stuck or stagnant energy within the body, and release the blocks preventing you from living your life to its fullest expression. It is Christopher's intention that participants will leave feeling lighter, more balanced, with greater clarity. Please bring your yoga mat.

Sun Salutations
with Jen Donovan, E-RYT, RCYT, RPYT

Atumnal Equinox Monday, September 17
5:30-7:00 p.m.

Celebrate the Equinox by challenging yourself to complete a Mala - 108 Sun Salutations.  108 is a very auspicious number in the yogic tradition.  The sun salutation is one of the most effective ways to learn about the vinyasa, binding the breath to the movement.   “The notion of a salutation to the sun is to pay your respects and surrender to the universe.  This can be taken as a metaphor to let go physically – the mind follows as you move ‘inside’ the practice.”

There will be a special crystal singing bowl savasana (relaxation) at the end.

Cost: One regular class price (drop in $18 or use a class from your pre-paid class package)

Yin Chakra Meditation
Yin Yoga & Chakra Meditation
with Heidi Gabelman
Saturday, 12:30 - 2:30 pm
Oct 27; Nov 24 & Dec 29

The study of chakras is an investigation of the wheels of subtle energy that unite our physical, emotional, and thinking bodies. The Yin Yoga and the techniques of surrender can lead us directly to our spine where Chakra wheels spin. Each chakra corresponds to different physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of our self.

In this 2-hour practice we will use Yin Yoga postures to stimulate, awaken, cleanse and meditate on these various chakra wheels. In Yin Yoga we hold different shapes with our body, according to unique structure for 3 to 5 minutes. This gives us the space and time to develop a deep awareness as well as physically affect our fascia resulting in increased mobility, stabilization, and energy flow.

You will leave feeling grounded, connected, and more at ease in your body.

"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer." - Albert Camus

The winter solstice marks the beginning of winter and is the shortest day and the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. It celebrates the new Solar year and the return of the sun as every day now we will see more daylight. For time immemorial humans have taken refuge in the darkest, longest night. The time between this longest night and the New Year has traditionally been used to both quiet down and reflect as well as re-vision the awareness of one's self. Because ancient cultures were unaware of the changes in the Earth's position, they feared that the sunlight would never return. To bring it back, they engaged in many celebrations and ceremonies. In fact, there are more ceremonies and "rituals associated with the winter solstice than any other time of year."

This evening will include inspired readings with Taylor Donovan and several crystal bowl performance by Jennifer Shull Donovan.

Cost: $25

We are requesting that you prepay for the event. Please call Taylor at 229-3889 to pay for and reserve your spot.

GREAT 108
Sun Salutations
with Jen Donovan, E-RYT, RCYT, RPYT

Winter Solstice Monday, December 17
5:30-7:00 p.m.

Celebrate the Solstice by challenging yourself to complete a Mala - 108 Sun Salutations.
